Website updated guidelines 19th July

Dear Members,

As lockdown eases and play is becoming more accessible, the Committee would like to offer a reduction in membership fees. Please see our membership page.

From Monday, 20th July, all 4 courts will be open for play.

Courts 1/2 and court 3/4 will use the same entrance/exits as before.

Social distancing is still a priority.

The gate between court 2 and 3 is still out of use.

Please hand sanitise before and after play, also sanitise the court gates/padlocks when you leave.

Ball use. It is up to players which balls you want in use, but please make sure your balls are initialled in case they roll onto the other court.

THE CLUBHOUSE WILL BE OPEN only for……

Floodlights

First Aid Kit

Disabled toilet, if really necessary.

Only…ONE PERSON / CHILD WITH PARENT OR GUARDIAN may go in to the clubhouse.

Please follow the notices inside and outside the clubhouse.

I realise it’s challenging times, but we must not become complacent.

The online booking system has been working well, but we’ve had to make a few changes.

The times slots will now change to 1hour, 15mins of this needs to be allocated to sanitising and exiting the courts.

You can book up to 2x1hr consecutive slots.

To support the NHS we have to keep records of attendance of every child, adult and spectator who visits our club premises for up to 21 days. This is for the purpose of the Government’s ‘Test and Trace’ guidelines.

When booking, you will need to use a computer to list all players/spectators, NOT your phone app. Sorry that this may seem tedious, but this is a legal requirement to run alongside our Risk Assessment.

You can book 1 hour, or if you choose to book 2×1 hour in one booking, you need to select the end time on top of the booking page.

You can only play if you have booked.

The Government/LTA now allow you to play doubles as well as singles.

We have introduced Men’s Monday Club Nights and Ladies’ Tuesday Club Nights.

This will run from 7.00pm – 10.00pm.

If you haven’t already, please contact Georgie and Alan if you want to be added to their rota.

It’s a fun evening and a great way to make new tennis friends.

Our full time coach, Stephen Pearce, will be available for individual and small group coaching sessions for adults and juniors. Also, internal club activities, such as singles/doubles ladders. Please contact him for the latest details.

The 2m social distancing rule will remain until we receive further guidelines from the LTA.

PLEASE follow our strict guidelines to keep you safe.

Posters with safety guidelines are positioned around the premises. Please take time to share these with younger members.

The LTA have issued new safeguarding guidelines. These are very important and may help young people through these challenging times. Please follow the link.

The Committee is continually monitoring the back to play process, with our Risk Assessment being frequently updated in line with Government/LTA guidelines.

The measures that we have now put in place are to begin on Monday 20th. These may need to be changed quickly if tighter social distancing is reintroduced in the future or when the restrictions are further relaxed.

If at any time you are feeling CV-19 symptoms, please do not come to play tennis, but follow the Government’s guidance of ‘Pre-Attendance Symptom Check’ and ‘Test and Trace

We continue to put the safety of our players first.

Enjoy our beautiful game and keep safe.

Kind regards

Sarah Strawbridge.     Chairman and Welfare Officer
