Website updated guidelines 5th October

Dear Members,

I hope you have all enjoyed playing tennis this summer, especially since opening all four courts back in July.

Our membership fees are being reduced 1st October. Please encourage family and friends to come along and have some fun playing tennis. Stephen Pearce, our Head Coach, has fun and exciting coaching sessions to cater for all abilities.

The online booking system has been working well. When booking, you will need to use a computer, not your phone. Sorry if this may seem tedious, but this is a legal requirement to run alongside our Risk Assessment.

We no longer need to implement a buffer period between court / session booking slots, but must still respect the 2m distancing rules, especially at court gates.

Please continue to hand sanitise before and after play. Also sanitise court gates/padlocks when you exit the courts.

Use initialled balls and keep socially distanced at all times.

It is paramount that we do not become complacent.

Alongside the Government’s Test and Trace guidelines, we now have the QR Code displayed on the clubhouse window for those who have downloaded the NHS COVID-19 app.

We are now running Inclusive Coaching Sessions, please contact Stephen Pearce, our Head Coach, if you know anyone who would enjoy some outdoor fun and exercise.

Our new Club Kit is displayed in the Clubhouse window, with a price list. Extra Mile in Cheddar will be producing a website for us to enable garments to be ordered online through our Club Website. In the meantime, please have a look at the kit and order directly with Extra Mile until the website is up and running.

The Club will be closed on the 22nd and 23rd October for the re-surfacing of our walkways. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Andy Chambers, who has given us a very competitive price, will be undertaking the work.

Please do not come to play tennis if you are demonstrating COVID-19 symptoms. Follow the government’s advice of Pre-Attendance Symptom Check and Test and Trace.

The Committee continue to put the safety of our players first.

Wrap up warm – the weather is changing!

Have fun and keep safe.

Kind regards

Sarah Strawbridge, Chairman and Welfare Officer

We are a friendly club with excellent facilities and plenty of opportunities for league tennis and social play whatever your age or ability.  The club has four all weather floodlit carpet courts (Matchplay 2 surface, newly installed in January 2019) allowing play every day of the year up to 10pm and a comfortable modern clubhouse. We are located at Sharpham Road Playing Fields next to Cheddar reservoir with the picturesque Mendip Hills behind. The club is affiliated to the LTA and Clubmark Accredited.
